After spending the bulk of his career life in executive recruitment, Richard is now a Career Coach partnering his clients, normally in mid- to senior level management roles, and helping to support these individuals make properly thought out career decisions and assisting them in their job searches and transition.
Prior to career coaching, Richard has 12 years solid experience in recruitment and executive search, assisting his clients identify, attract and recruit key personnel for their organizations across the region.
Richard joined MRI China Group in 2003, initially running the Supply Chain/ Logistics desk servicing one of the Group's largest logistics client account and others. Beginning 2006, he was assigned to set up and manage the Group's newly created Internal Recruitment department. In 2007, he took on the role of Operations and Performance Development Coordination Manager, acting as the key contact point on the coordination of group-wide performance development and operational initiatives.
Subsequently, Richard was appointed as Head of the new Chinese Multinationals and Conglomerates (CMC) Business Division, and General Manager of the Guangzhou office. In 2008, he took on an additional role as Regional Practice Leader for the Group's Supply Chain & Logistics/Transportation Practice in Asia.
As a senior executive recruiter, Richard strongly believes in bringing the right person to the right place at the right time. He feels that “it is easy to find people with the right skill level and core competencies but more importantly, they must have the right motivation and the right personality fit for my clients”.

2008 - 2009As the Regional Practice Leader for the MRIC's Supply Chain & Logistics/Transportation Practice in Asia, Richard is responsible for strategic oversight and management of the regional practice, which consists of specialist consultants in China, Singapore and Hong Kong, focused on recruiting within the universe of both Supply Chain Service Providers and the Functional Supply Chain.
2007 - 2008As Head of the new Chinese Multinationals and Conglomerates (CMC) Business Division for the MRI China Group based in Guangzhou , Richard is responsible for strategic oversight, methodology localisation and local language collateralisation, and management of the newly created business division, building and growing business opportunities within China's homegrown conglomerate customers and prospects.
At the same time, he is also taking charge of the Guangzhou office as General Manager, responsible for day-to-day operations management, and the driving and managing of key leadership and strategic initiatives for the office.
2007 - 2007As Operations & Performance Development Coordination Manager, Richard acts as the key contact on all training initiatives and is responsible for coordinating group-wide efforts on performance development. At the same time, he also assists the company management on a variety of operational issues across the different offices.
During this time, he put together a systematic workflow process for the PD function, consolidated and updated key training progress records for all staff across the Group, and successfully executed several key training initiatives. He also helped in the drafting of several company procedures and assisted in their implementation.

2006 - 2007As a "Recruiter of Recruiters", Richard networks across a multitude of companies and industries identifying, motivating and recruiting talented recruiters or industry experts to join MRI China Group.
As a Department Head, he manages, train and lead his team of 2 in fufiling the hiring requirements put forward by the Group. His team has to-date completed various surveys and data collection which helped improve on business intelligence for the company.
At the same time, he also takes a lead role as the primary facilitator for all internal hiring processes across the company's six offices (Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea), ensuring that the hiring process flow is both effective and efficient.
2003 - 2005Responsible for managing the entire executive recruitment and selection process for regional (Asia Pacific) search assignments within the Logistics/ Supply Chain and Flavors and Fragrance vertical markets.
He has been particularly successful in placing mid- to senior level professionals into Director and Senior Manager level or highly technical roles e.g. GM, Operations Director, Supply Chain Director, Asia Procurement Manager, Perfumers, Flavorists, Food Technologists and Sensory/ Evaluation professionals etc.
1997 - 2003Richard has been working for nearly a decade in the recruitment/executive search industry. During his earlier years in the business, he worked as a generalist recruiter across different sectors the likes of Transportation, Logistics/ Supply Chain, Consumer, High Tech and IT. In 1999, he transitioned into a specialist role focusing on Logistics/Supply Chain, serving predominantly 3PLs, Freight Forwarders and Shippers across Asia Pacific, based out of Singapore.
