Good day,

I work in Shenzhen for 4 years and half now as manager of a buying office located in south of China near Hong Kong. Subsidiary of a French company, i am deeply involved in the office set up from the beginning (2006)

Following local rules, our team handled the company registration in Shenzhen.

As originally a French logistics company, we set up our 1st business as air/sea freight agent. We developed this activity with door to door shipments in order to provide maximum services to our customers.

The second step was to buy commodities directly from local suppliers and to export goods. Our location in china gives us the asset to control the sourcing, quality and leadtime in the buying process.

Our business is growing permanently now trough several kind of purchased products and regular containers traffic to ship.

My daily job is to be responsible of the relationship with both supplier and customer: directly in touch with customers and according to his requests, i lead the supplier sourcing process. Then when the order is opened, i work with our local staff in order to follow the order and to guarantee the quality and the deadline.

This is a permanent challenge because it doesn't only appeal to your technical skills but also to the capacity to understand local people with their culture. The more we master the environment the more we can deal with issues.

In addition of my previous experiences in manufacturing logistics and international transportation, i've got from this experience a clear vision of the whole chain of value : from manufacturing to final dispatching.

Therefore i plan to go back to France by the end of the year to lead my career to new experieces linked with purchasing and/or supply chain management.

->Products: Household equipt, cosmetic accessories, products for stowage and lifting, small machinery, gift products.

->Achievements: sourcing, design, prototyping, order opening (T/T or L/C), quality control, air / sea freight shipments, invoicing, directly in touch with customers and managed staff for suppliers’ relationship.

->Results: diversified the activity, repeated orders, developed customers’ loyalty, crossed subsidiary’s break-even point.

->Annex achievements: renewed office « business license » and “work / residence permits”. Daily managed local staff.

->Project aim: set up representative office in China and launched freight forwarding business.

->Tools: incoterms, air/sea freight quotation, L/C, B/L, AWB, imp & exp customs clearance.

->Achievements: -daily conducted air / sea shipments from customer quotation to final invoicing.
-set up office, assimilated local legislation concerning company registration and taxation.
-prospected for more competitive transportation suppliers and new customers.
-managed by Asia director from distance, managed Chinese assistant. Looked for local partners.

->Results: office fully registered and operational, logistics business increasing, average of 20 containers / month.

Annex achievements: set up booth at “Small &Medium Enterprises” exhibition of Hong-Kong (nov 2006).

RATP, public transport of Paris area. Temporary work at the “Subway station’s elevators” maintenance department.

->Project aim: Definition of the warehouse spare parts’ supplying policy (8000 items).

->Tools: Statistics, Method of the point of order, Formula of Wilson. Computerized Maintenance Management System.

->Achievements: -defined the class « A » with all the strategic products (300/8000 items).
-calculated with statistics the re-order levels and the economic order quantities.
-quantified the safety stock cost according to the aimed service rate. Final choice of the service rate.

->Results: got approval from the Management, implemented the maintenance software, trained warehousemen. Respected deadline and extended project to other agencies.

Faurecia, 1st European automotive parts manufacturer. Just In Time plant (final soldering of exhaust systems). Paris area

->Project aim: Set up synchronous Just In Time deliveries of exhaust systems in Paris area.

->Tools: Kanbans, Computerized Production Management System « Data3 », Faurecia software “Synchrone 2000”.

->Achievements: - made a forecast sizing of the components stock. Changed from horizontal to vertical storing layout.
- defined deliveries flows and organized stocks areas.

Pfizer (at Amboise plant), first worldwide pharmaceutical company. “Injectable forms” production department.

->Project aim: Quantification and Improvement of production flows. Part of FDA certification process.

->Achievements: analyzed production process, detected process failures, SMED and F.M.E.C.A analysis.
