A partner with Brown Rudnick, LLP, in Boston, Massachusetts, Mary-Laura Greely assists clients with various corporate legal matters. She works with clients in a very wide range of industries. It is noted that Mary-Laura has had extensive experience representing companies in the health care field. Her clients have included hospital networks, physician and veterinary practice groups, medical management companies, and health care information technology firms. Additionally, Mary-Laura Greely has served as senior outside general corporate counsel for early-stage medical device and biotech companies. These positions have enabled her to focus on the many regulations affecting this field, including the Stark Law, the HIPAA Private Rules, and the False Claims Act.
Having graduated from Boston University School of Law, Mary-Laura Greely practice focuses on corporate law. In transactional matters, she works closely with tax attorneys and advisors during the structuring of deals to identify potential tax issues in order to maximize any tax benefits and and avoid any adverse consequences. As a significant part of her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, Mary-Laura also works closely with antitrust counsel on regulatory matters. She also frequently assists clients in obtaining additional capital through complex senior, mezzanine, and subordinated debt financings. Mary-Laura also has significant experience in commercial real estate involving the acquisition and development of real properties, including drafting of purchase & sale agreements and commercial leasing agreements. She has also served as borrower's counsel on the financing arrangements relating to the development of such properties. Additionally, she assist clients in licensing intellectual property rights for commercial products and in preserving their data privacy.
