On November 2005 I was promoted Chief Photographer for China and I moved to Beijing. My tasks and achievements include :
• Set up China Photo Desk. Developed, managed a bureau of 10 freelance photographers, edited their production. Joined the foreign wire agencies’ pool in Beijing and provided photos for it.
• Headed Asia-Pacific Photo Desk after the leave of manager. Covered 11 countries, managed 50 freelance photographers for three months until replacement. Major events: Indonesian earthquake, Thailand polls and Thaksin resignation, Hyundai Chairman indicted, South Korea’s first female Prime Minister, AWB scandal trial in Australia.
• Took photos of major events in mainland China: National People’s Congress, State visits of Kofi Annan, Angela Merkel, Carlos Gutierrez and Donald Tsang, gas leak in Chongqing, Chinese poor and Chinese billionaires. Numerous publication including font pages of Financial Times and Hong Kong’s Standard.
1997 - 2000Intern photographer at Corbis Sygma, Agence France Presse wire service, Le Figaro newspaper, Journal du dimanche weekly. Took photos of the 1998 Soccer World Cup, the 2000 Internet bubble, strikes, and demonstrations.
