2008 - 2009- Content and language editor for Guangdong province’s only English language news service, broadcasting to over 77 million listeners.
- Presenter of 90% of all English radio broadcast programs in Guangdong province, including economic news, cultural magazines and political analyses
- Master of ceremony for all Southern Media Corporation’s bilingual events. These included hosting China’s most influential televised English competition at a provincial level, and formal events attended by foreign dignitaries and provincial high-level officials including the Director of Guangdong’s Foreign Affairs Office or the head of the Guangdong’s Information Office.
2006 - 2008- Teaching French and English to Translation Major Graduates with the use of modern interactive methods, including theatre and modern technologies.
- Introducing students to major cultural activities within Guangzhou and managing "Home Show: Urban Anxiety", an event part of "Get it louder 2007" art festival.
- This 2 year experience has given me a broad insight into Chinese culture, its history, and also its social and economic issues. In my free time, I was able to travel throughout over 12 provinces, spending time both in remote villages and modern cities, talking to farmers and urban residents, low educated people and businessmen.
2006 - 2006- Film director of a short film: 8’12’’. In addition to the typical pre-production tasks, I also successfully presented the project in French to 4 committees in order to obtain state grants. During the 2-week production, I handled the €. 9000 budget and 15-man crew, successfully completing the film as scheduled whilst assuming full artistic direction.
- Assistant Director to Erik Bullot on his film “Glossolalie” produced by RIAM. My roles were to research key interviewees and provide technical and logistical support when out on location.
2004 - 2004- Co-Writer of “Welcome to Egypt”, a multimedia production made during a research trip in Egypt. Whilst extensively travelling throughout the country, I recorded locals going about their daily lives. From these testimonies, a sound documentary was published about Egypt, its diversity, the difficulties faced with its neighbour, Israel, and its inner contradictions, particularly between the government and Islamic groups.
- The experience was rewarding partly due to the success of the project, but also because understanding Egypt was for me a key to understand, from an extra-European perspective, the middle-east turmoil, as it occupies an important role in the Arab world both due to its proximity with Israel and the key role it plays in the international community.
2004 - 2004- Working for 3 months closely with the production manager and theatre administration so as to prepare the year’s subvention plan (over €.4 M) and present it to investors.
- During this time, I prepared the year’s schedule for grant applications, prepared public presentations and briefings, designed relevant communication documents and wrote all press releases related to the theatre’s financing.
2003 - 2004Working as the Night manager gave me
the opportunity to run a 6-man team in a
luxury hotel. This job demanded good
communication skills with both guests and
staff, and the capability to direct or
delegate responsibilities, plan working
shifts, resolve conflicts, and increase sales
while preserving on-site security.
2000 - 2003- Responsible for over 100 young adults in a vocational high school. This position involved dealing with difficult situations, conflict resolutions, team building and establishing self-esteem amongst the students, many of whom were from violent or criminal backgrounds.
- This position was offered to me by the French Government after starting university in France. Reserved to quality students, it allows them to have a professional activity at the same time as undertaking a degree. Employees are under strict assessment by the Ministry so as to ensure that only the most responsible and serious individuals remain in position.
